Navigating Life and Leadership as a Black Woman
It is widely reported the emerging workforce consists of women, millennials and younger and people of color. Embedded in this demographic are growing numbers of emerging Black women leaders. These women are in need of services, information and support as they navigate career dynamics unique to Black women leaders.
Gwen Webber-McLeod, author of Your Leadership Journey and Founder of You Can't Fail, Inc., a nonprofit leadership development organization for emerging women leaders of color; notices increasing numbers of Black women leaders choosing to make it their business to develop programs, services, books and companies specific to the needs of Black girls and women aspiring to lead.
She sat down in November 2023 with Elizabeth Leiba, author of I'm Not Yelling and Protecting My Peace, and Eden Strachan, author of Black Girls Get No Love; to engage in an intergenerational conversation about the importance of Black women leaders focusing their work on the growth and development of Black girls and women.
By investing in the potential of Black girls and women, we can foster a future where diverse leadership flourishes and thrives.
Each year, we offer a select group of women the opportunity to participate in the YCF Leadership Learning Community, a leadership development program specifically designed to develop and accelerate the career paths of early- and mid-career professional women of color. Applications for our 2024 program are open through March 29, 2024.
